So, the day is rapidly approaching where I will be lifting up the frame and pulling off the springs, axles, etc, leaving myself with a bare frame.

What I just realized I hadn't thought of was how, exactly, is the best way to go about this. Once I get the engine, tranny, etc off, I obviously need to lift the whole deal up to get the weight off the axles. I'll pull the wheels first of course. After that, what is the best way to lift up/support the frame? Use of forklift is not an option...

The frame is a lot lighter than you would expect.. the bare frame can be picked up very easily by one person sooooo... knock out the shacke/spring bolts, stand in the middle of the frame and lift... nothing to it..

I usually jack up the axles to get the frame in the air, put jackstands under the frame, and then remove the axles, springs, etc.. I really only do it this way because my jack won't reach the frame ;)
