I am trying to locate a source for the pads/webbing/and rivets to replace the windshield frame to hood pads on my 66 cj5. I thought that Beachwood still had the kits but didn't see it on the website when i checked. Mine have finally dissolved and become rock hard, just got new glass for the windshield and am looking to replace the old pads. If no source has anyone had success with a homegrown fix? Tahnks for the help guys!! :)

Herm had the hood welt kit....but, the part I am looking for is webbing and pads. The two brackets that attach to the windshield frame dirsctly over the wiper arms originally had webbing riveted to them with a padding on the front and when the windshield frame is laid down it padded the hood from the frame.

If you have not already, try a search.I remember some talk about use of a fire house or tire tube. By the way I need a new windshield I am curious what you paid for yours.

I've had quotes between $90 and $120 to replace the glass.

The new glass was 149 out the door and installed in about 35 minutes, the glass shop had to make the piece since it wasn't avail anymore. But wow I can see better and no crack....but afterall it was the original glass from the factory.....thanks for the info guys.
