Moving over from the introduction page and on to the build page.

Jeep runs when you poor gas down the carb, but the fuel tank is not hooked up. Started off removing fuel tank and trying to blow out the fuel line from the carb back. No luck on the fuel line, it’s plugged up. Fuel tank doesn’t look great either, rusty inside and out. Went ahead and ordered a new fuel tank and fuel lines. Also ordered a new master cylinder. The brake peddle goes in freely and then a sudden hard stop. Maybe I’ll get lucky and not need new lines and wheel cylinders, but most likely will. Unfortunately some time in the jeeps life someone cut a square out of the frame to access I think a nut on the master cylinder. Going to have to fill that in at some point.

That frame notch square is hilarious! On the bright side, looks as if your seat frames/brackets have survived. They're worth their weight in gold.

Got the fuel tank installed and ran new fuel lines to the carb. I had purchased pre-bent fuel lines that kind of fit, kind of didn’t, but I made it work. Jeep now runs off of fuel tank! On to the brakes!

I do, I had a video with the tank strap and everything installed but I don’t have anywhere to host the video yet. When I do I’ll try and post it.

probably easiest to host video on YouTube, a gmail account is all you need there, iirc. (or that is how i have done it for years, ymmv).

then you use the video icon above to paste the link to the video.

Fuel system, every piece of the brake system and a new wiring harness are usually required on these old Jeeps. Especially if they have been sitting.

It’s been a bit but was able to get some time to work on the Jeep today. Took the tires off to get some new ones installed soon and to get access to the brakes. Pulled the old master cylinder out and prepped to install the new one. Two lessons learned this afternoon. First, it is a royal pain in the butt to remove the master cylinder. Second, order parts after you look at what is on your Jeep, descriptions are not always accurate.
