Carb Help

Hello,
I have a 75 with the 258 and originsl 4 speed.
It’s a one owner with just over 25,500 cordrect miles.
The owner fad replaced the carb and fuel pump with a Carter carb and a Holly Ele fuel pump.
It doesn’ft start and run as it should.
My question is, which is better for this jeep, the originsl carb and fuel pump or not?
Would appreciate an experienced advise.

Not sure what is "better" but I am a huge believer in stock equipment being much simpler to maintain and manage, including sourcing OEM parts and information.

 

That leaves a lot of room for questions.. What makes you suspect the carb? There are many options for this engine.. The factory carbs on the 258 were never known for being "great" and I don' t know which carter you have so I can't say really..

 

Is the fuel pump output pressure matched to the psi specs for the carb? It matters.
