Got correct parts this week for crossmember connection to D18.
The upper "donut" does not fit into the steel ring spot welded to the crossmember.
I believe I have seen a refrence in a post somewhere a while back that this steel ring should be removed for the "new style" donut"
Is this correct or does the upper rubber cushion just sit on the steel ring?

I think I would leave the steel ring intact if at all possible, the new bushing should sit down inside the ring. Seems like it would sure help keep things in line a lot better. Can you modify the new rubber bushing a little and make it fit?

Yes I can and shave a bit off the rubber to fit the steel ring "keeper"
    Thanks!

Looks to me that the crossmember has the remnants from an old insulator remaining inside the crossmember insulator retainer ring.
    Remove that “extra” ring.

On my last go around with the 3B, I just made those donuts from polyurethane.
