When I bought the 62 Jeep and took it for a test drive I told the guy it steers and handles weird! He told me that's the way a CJ Jeep handles because of the short wheel base. Well I told him if Jeeps handeld this way new, no one would by them! He said it might be the mismatched spings in the rear. Well after getting it home I found 2 different springs in the rear, one shock on the right front side un/bolted off the bottom and the spring on that side bent a little too. Now if that wasn't enought to make it ride funny the rear shackles had allmost 1 inch of play in the holes on the spring ends. Today removing the brake flex lines with it jacked off the ground I noticed a 1/4" gap between the axle and the front right leaf spring!! Thought it was weird the alinement shim was loose yet the u-bolt were tight and not moving. After looking closer I found he had not seated the bolt thru the leafs into the axle mount! I know this guy drinks alot when he works on things in his shop but, real glad he told me the only thing he had fixed/worked on was putting in new front springs and it did not raise the back end up level?? No wonder it did not ride right and glad the spring mount had not slipped off the nut and got loose. Some people are better off not touching there rigs!! Mark

It should drive a lot better soon! Lift kit gets here Monday or Tuesday can't wait. New hubs come today for the front end. Hate waiting for parts but the end resault will be NICE! Need to correct the wiring under the hood did the dash area yesterday wat a pain laying under it!! I untaped a bunch of wires and found splices everywhere. Got the horn working and need to cut out all the added stuff and dress it back up right. Adding a few fuses to the system and replaced the heater hoses with new. Also remounted the radiator with rubber mounts since it is not original to the jeep. Mark
