Okay, i finally got a tub for my -3b, and its evident i will need a new rear floor and front floorpans. I cant find a place to buy repro panels for a -3b. Does anyone know what would be necessary to modify the front rear floors of a -2a/-3a to fit a -3b? Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the only difference in the 3A and 3B body is the hood height. The 3B essentially has a 3A body modified to clear the taller F-head. You could call Classic Enterprises and ask them to confirm.

It's comparatively easy to fab flat floor pans (such as the front floor). If you want ribs like stock, you could have them made or buy actual replacement panels. There are ribbed panels for pickup truck beds which you could piece together with flat steel, but it wouldn't be exactly like stock.

what Tim said.Only difference IIRC is hood, grille, winshield frame. Later ones have different dash, all that to say this. I've made floors for 3as and they are pretty simple. Save the hump if you can. Eastwood has some hat channel that works well. Last time I did it just made a cardboard pattern and took to local sheet matal shop and they cut and bent the lips for me.hth

As always, thanks for the info guys. The only reason i was wanting to make the repro floor pans work, at least as far as the back, was so that i would have e ribs in it and it would appear original, as afr as the front, i just thought it would be simpler to have preformed panels to begin with. Guess im just gonna hafta keep thinkin bout it in the meantime (i have lots of other stuff to work on)Any other info/opinions are appreciated.

Years ago for a quick fix on my '66 I cut out a section of old truck bed for the back floor. It had a few dents and scratches to match the natural "petina" of the CJ5.

the cj3b takes the same parts as the cj3a as far as floors go, fenders and most other body panels. The only difference is the hood, grill, a metal filler piece in the cowl section and the firewall. Floors from a cj3a will work fine.
