Non-mechanic here. I’ve been told by good mechanics that my recently purchased CJ5 is in good working order, aside from a leak from the head gasket and a “lean-running” carburetor (he increased the fuel flow, which has made it start/run better).
Just wondering what I should prioritize as far as mechanical work goes… fix leak, rebuild/replace carb?

it does always take a couple turns to start, and that amount of time is proportionate to how long it’s been sitting.

there is a “jingly” sound that I would love to address. I feel like it’s a fan belt issue but again, I’m not a mechanic.

just wondering what you guys would do if you were me. Appreciate any and all advice!

I believe you have a couple of members in your general vicinity. I would start with them. They may be running a bit older rigs, but aside from make and manufacture and maybe a few zillion vacuum lines (we are in CA after all), general troubleshooting and diagnostics are going to be similar.
