Newbie here looking for some help in sourcing a spindle(or two) for my 73 CJ5. I went to do some front end servicing and noticed the spindle has some pitting and so I'd like to replace it. I'd imagine those new bearing won't love life I I leave it as is.

I'm still running drum brakes on all 4 corners and it looks like the only spindles I'm coming across are for the 77' and newer with disc brakes. My question is does the Dana 30 have any other makes/models that I can yank a spindle from that would be a direct bolt in? I don't have much in the way of machining so lathe work is a little outside my scope. Hoping some folks here can help educate me on what options I might have. :study:

    Thanks!

Light Pitting should be ok because it's not the actual bearing surface the rollers ride against. You do need good threads and the seal surface but the rest can be cleaned up.

Otherwise take the newer spindles and use the newer inner bearings. The hub didn't change.

Post a couple of pictures of your spindle. I'm betting they are salvageable.

Will do! I plan on working on it a bit this weekend so I'll grab some pictures then and share them here to get some feedback on them.
