So, .... while part of me works on the Dana 44, another part is working on modifying the shift rails in the D20 xfercase, and then there are the side panels. After getting the corner panels modified for my tail lights, I am ready to tackle the side panels. I plan on using 3M 08115 body panel adhesive.

But I have questions, do I scuff the backside for better adhesion or paint the backside with Chassis Saver for rust prevention?

Anybody ever work with this stuff?

I have a body shop that does rust repair and we use that product. Most body panel adhesives require bare metal. Be sure to get it everywhere you have bare metal and want it to stick. It is waterproof so you can use it somewhat as your “rustproofing”. I usually use a brown fiber disc but you can use 150 grit or so. Be sure to read the instructions, they should tell you how to prep. Also note the working time on the packaging, some of them are only 10 or 15 minutes so you’ll probably want a longer time since you’re doing a large area.
