Until it is completely torn down will you know what worn parts will need replacement. On the electrics... clean or
replace connectors, buss bars and mounting lugs. Test operation of solenoids and check the resistance of the contacts.
Replace as needed or start fresh with new relays. High resistance equals heat and makes things unhappy.

IMG_1041.jpeg IMG_1037.jpeg IMG_1031.jpeg IMG_1030.jpeg IMG_1029.jpeg IMG_1025.jpeg Gears all look good. Brake pads are oily so I’m going to replace those. Snap ring oh boy definitely replacing that. The clutch assembly looks good too. The roller fairlead had been seriously worn so I assumed this winch had potentially had a rough life but it appears pretty clean overall. The oil that was left in it( it had tipped over on the garage floor and dumped a bunch out) was brown, separated in the container I dumped it in and smelled very sour. Rebuild manual from Warn says to use type f tranny fluid or SAE20 weight motor oil.

In the share options pick the bbcode and pixle size. Typically I'll try to do a medium size. I see the link but I can only share the link as a "friend"

Successful rebuild. Waiting on a contractor from superwinch. The toughest part was rebuilding the brake. The videos I watched folks were trying to assemble the brake assembly in an upright position. I did it upside down put two spring clamps on it to compress the spring and keep all 21. All bearings in place and then lined up the holes on the brake disks and slid the shaft through. I then had to line up carefully the keys ways and the cam slots on the other half. I wish I had taken pictures as I went but I got it together and there was no going back!

So thoughts on synthetic rope and a fairlead? I’ve read the winch rope post that’s a few years old and I am wondering if there is a quality economical role out there?

Ran across this in my ramblings. Kinda pricey but looks nice.

Love that fairlead! I bought the Daystar poly replacement rollers for my Belleview fairlead. It is the same one that had the metal rollers in it. I had to trim the length of the verticle poly rollers to get them to fit in, but will need to trim just a bit more to get them to roll better. They are a quality product and priced at $46 for the set comes in black or red. I figured I would start with them. I have 100 ft of 3/8 rope.

The reviews on the poly rollers suggest they don't do well on hard side pulls. At that price point they could be a wear and replace as needed.
The fairlead I posted reminds of something Duffer might come up with. Kind of a combined roller and hawse.

SO I bought a DC contactor(Albright style) from superwinch. I have been scouring the internet today trying to find a wiring diagram for this upgrade but I haven't been successful. It seems all the links and or pics are old enough most are not available. Does anyone have a wiring diagram they can post?

    Thanks!

Is it the 90-14452? There are tons of info out there. You need to know exactly what re boxed/rebranded contactor you received and its internal diagram.

This is the wiring diagram on the side with the part number. That diagram is baffling to me.

Can you get a clearer picture of the diagram and any numbers cast near the posts?
