'83 Chevy 3.8 Swap?

1955 CJ5 w/F134 Thinking about the V6 swap and can find tons of possible donors in FWD Buicks but seeing advice to only use RWD donor. I've found a 3.8 from an '83 Malibu. Is the distributor at the rear of the engine an issue? Any other issues? Planning on using the SM420 trans if that matters.

The 3.8 should have a "dualjet" the front half of a quadrajet and a HEI distributor. Relatively easy to make run on a stand and you can use the short water pump and all but it's not all that powerful. You do want the exhaust for either that or a 4.3 but there is no small cap distributor for the semi odd motor. So the final fit in a jeep makes a small cap hei 4.3 the better choice.
