T90 Input Shaft Change

    Please educate me on changing a T90 input shaft to the long 11.5 version.
    Can it be done with Trans still mounted?
    Motor and bellhousing are obviously out at the moment

    It's best done on a bench.
    I did mine in the jeep for my 30day engine swap but had to tear it apart almost immediately to resolve some issues.
    On the bench It's a simple matter of dumping the case out, but in the jeep it's nearly impossible to collect fallen needle bearings when you pull the short shaft out.

    Cluster gear needs changed too, at least mine did.

    The early short t-90a and long t-90j have the same cluster the later t-90c uses a different cluster.
    If you have 5.38 axles and a dana25 you should have a t90a. But you won't know for sure until you pop the cover and count the teeth.
