The factory 64/65 Buick air cleaners will fit under the low flatfender hood. Here's the one in my Dad's Jeep. He welded stock 225 mounts to his frame, and the air cleaner actually has a 1" or so spacer under it:

They aren't easy to find, but there is a really nice one on ebay for $350.00: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144258626404

For a spacer, these generic 2 5/8" diameter hot rod spacers can be made to work.

IMG_2952.jpeg It’s not very classy, and I don’t think I would do it on a nice Jeep like yours but a Denisons chili can can be cut to whatever length you want and fits nicely on top of a 2G.
I needed a bit of clearance for the choke linkage.

As another mix master (the Blue '49 is on a 5 frame and drive train) I have gone to putting a body lift on as I do swinging pedals and such too. Before that, I would build a cold air tube intake for the air and roll it off the side with a cone or box filter. Worked pretty good, but the body lift gave me more room for other things too and just became my defacto go to.

Thanks Melvinm! I don't have any pics of that area but will take one. I can tell you that I had to elongate the clutch and brake pedal openings in the tub but not by a lot, too a fellow machinist made an adapter for the brake pedal that aligned the pedal linkage better with the hole in the floor. The floor plate over the transmission has to be opened up a bit but a shift boot covers it to give you an idea of how much you have to open it up. I haven't finished working on that plate so when you see the pic keep that in mind. Since winter is approaching I just wanted to get it to the point of drivability using the winter to do some tweaks to the project.
