Why do you need a rebuild kit? It looks like yo7 may only need to replace ( or seal with RTV) the gasket between the hub and lockout.
No idea who made that hub, but was common in the ‘80’s that came on new Jeeps.

I was thinking RTV as well. Just didn't know if there is a gasket there. Thanks

I hate rtv. Don't understand why anyone uses it.

Permatex #2, or their Aviation sealant.!

As early as the OP's 1971? When did RTV's come into common usage?

I like Permatex #2 but the non-hardening issue makes it almost impossible to not have some sort of mess that will get on everything.

    Granted; not as 1971 applications.
RTV has made significant improvements since then. The gray "Right Stuff" and gold "Ultra Copper" lead the way for many other decent RTV gasket sealants. Permatex ultra blue and ultra black are great sealants.
The gray is specified as OEM auto trans pan gasket on my 2012 Ram 2500.

    RTV fixed the problem.
