there is a little brass fitting by the distrubuter that has some vacum hoses going to it. one goes to the oil filler tube. where doses the other two go to. I think the long skinny one goes to the heating stuff but its the bigger one I am not sure about.

The reason I ask is becuse the jeep is sputting a little I if I can hook that vacum up to where its supposed to be I may be able to tune the carb a little better.

On my 56 CJ6 F-Head the larger hose runs from the dipstick tube to the oil bath air filter mounted on the passenger side firewall. It does not go to the vacuum at all. As far as the heating part not sure whats going on there. When I purchased mine the vacuum hole just above the distributor was plugged off. It seems every motor I looked at everthing was routed differently. If you can send a picture sure would help to see what you have.

Here is a picture of how mine is setup. The only line going to my vacuum is the breather Vent that comes from the drivers side of the motor where the cover for the lifters are. I have seen some using that vacuum for the factory vacuum operated wipers. That maybe is what the small line was once used for on yours.

On my '65 Fhead the small line goes to the heater control, the 1/4" line goes to the vacuum pump, the large hose goes to the valve cover cap.

The CJ-3B Page has a full description of the Vacuum/PCV system used with the F-Head. Just go to the page and do a site search for vacuum.
