I installed a 15 gallon tank from MTS in the back of my CJ5 and started working on the fuel lines, but I’m having a hard time getting the filter seated on the fuel sender. It seems to take up too much depth in the tank. It is a hard, cylindrical filter that slides over the 5/16 tube on the fuel sender. It only goes about half to 2/3 of the way over the tube. I tried putting the fuel sender in the freezer and using a little motor old, but couldn’t get it in further.
Anyone else have a problem with this? I believe there is a soft, sleeve-type filter that may solve the problem. I’m going to call MTS tomorrow.

I spoke to MTS and I think I have my problem solved. The hard filter does not seat all the way down on the 5/16 tube on the fuel sender, but is stall able to retrieve gas from the bottom of the tank when near empty through the plastic tube in the filter. They recommended putting a gentle bend in the 5/16 tube to help it fit.

MTS has had great customer service the few times I have called.
