Wow. Everything else is going up and these came way down. I bought the same tool under a different name several years ago for nearly 3x this price. Even at that, I thought it was a worthwhile purchase and I'm a notorious cheapskate.

These do not damage the bearings at all which can be particularly important with Dana axles where the shim packs are interior to the bearing vs other brands that have the shims on the outside of the bearing. Set up bearings alleviate this issue if you have them.

I haven't rebuilt an axle yet but was going to and then chickened out. Still, using this tool just to take the stuff apart and ready it all for the gear guy was worth it.

I've never got a set off yet without trashing them & those things are getting $pendy. I wish I did pumpkins often enough to justify buying one of these. :(

Thanks for pointing these out. Will put them on the list. I just finally bought a used Miller carrier bearing tool because I found the adapters for my Ram's AAM axles. Hoping those work well as well.

I bought one off a tool truck thirty years ago and paid 3X back then.

You can use them on pinions and with extensions axles as well.

They used to be like 700 bucks and you can still find sellers trying to charge that for this exact same Chinese product. It’s not a terrifically complex tool that needs a lot of machining.. for 700 bucks it would be worth my time to make one for sure.. but these are reasonably priced.

If you feel lucky, these pullers are offered on eBay for $12.99, plus 32.99 shipping from China. Item number is 305119258882. I’m tempted to try for less than $50

Make sure you use it properly. If you don't get the nuts snug, you can pull the cage off the inner race.

you get yours yet? On Oct 12, I received tracking info and thus I assume that is when shipping starting....it showed estimated delivery date of Oct 26...as of today, it still has not arrived and no further info. Probably on a boat.....I am going to begin pulling the 58 D44 out and apart....hoping it shows up soon, although its not 100% necessary. I expect to replace all bearings anyway, so I can damage the old ones getting them off - just thought it might help with test fitting for backlash, or allow me to use the old bearings as set-up bearings if I can get them off without damage.

Since its been since Oct 12 since I got any update on the order - and that was just a tracking number created, and no further info shipping info at all (not even marked as in transit), I decided to file an inquiry with the seller through ebay. If they don't respond after 3 days or so, then you can file a request for refund or something. While waiting for three days to pass, I ordered the $80 (including shipping) from the first seller 47v6 listed on Tues. It arrived late yesterday! So for $80 you can get one to your door in just a few days....

I'd avoid the less than $50 ones from overseas (seller ghyt3633). As of Sat, I can file formal request for refund - will put the ebay money back guarantee to the test - honestly figure its less than 50-50 that i get my 40 something bucks back. Best news is I can continue with the D44 rebuild this weekend.

I've had to use this twice. Both times successful.
I've found E bay to be a bit flaky when it comes to used parts. However, a couple of curt conversations with the seller garnered my money back.
Make sure you get the adjusting nuts snug. If they are loose you run the risk of pulling the bearing apart.
The job is much easier if you use an impact on the press screw.

Yeah I think they're waiting for their ship to come in, I've been watching an inspection scope they sell & it's been estimated three to four weeks for restock for the last five to six weeks .

Very well possible, but I just couldn't wait any longer...I'll be happy if I end up with my money back or a second unit I can sell cheap to recoup most of my $50. If it is on a boat, I'd appreciate it having a departure scan and 'in transit' marked on tracking, not just label created. Also, seller has had 3 days to respond to my inquiry asking for an update and if the shipment has even left point of origin. So far no response. Even if it's truly stuck in a shipping container at point of origin, that's still 6 weeks more to wait....you don't get to keep my money for 3 months without interest. Something I ordered from summit the other day is on backorder for a few months....they don't take my money until it ships. I am typically not pessimistic, but I also think there is a reasonable possibility this is a scam such that even if they return the money, they basically will get an interest free loan for 3months. It's not a huge personal issue, I am not mad at the world. It may still all work out, but at a minimum let's just say I am not impressed with the seller and won't do business with them again. I'd recommend buying direct from vevor or from the other seller Chris posted (and I reposted above).
