Just looking for a little info, has anyone had a full exhaust system installed at a muffler shop for a V8 lately?
Just looking for ballpark figures on cost for just a standard factory type exhaust, steel, Y-pipe, any muffler and tail pipe.
I am at the point that I can install exhaust now in my rebuild project. I could tow it to a muffler shop and have it done but I would have to install the body (probably) for best fit and to make sure everything clears. I looked at a premade kit at Waldron's Exhaust that runs about $550. I would guess that a local shop would charge all of that. Just curious if the cost would sway my decision one way or another, thanks.

I had custom exhaust and muffler installed at shop earlier this year for my V-6, cost was just under $800.

Thanks I appreciate it. The previous owner must have gotten a good deal on rubberized asphalt because that frame was absolutely covered in in undercoating of some sort. At first I cussed because it was so hard to remove, but after I got it removed the frame had no rust whatsoever. A few little frame cracks that I welded up and then I repainted it with a thick coat of Rustoleum gloss black. I brushed it on with foam brushes and it really covered well, almost like a thick layer of plastic. Should be easy to touch up also. Cheers.
