Twist Lock Sending Unit Removal ??

    I have an under seat tank with a twist lock sending unit in my March '70 CJ-5 and I cant seem to get it to budge. Anybody know a good trick or tool that makes this doable. I tried grabbing the tabs with channel locks they just want to bend over. I tried a few different searches for this topic but nothing specific came up.

    I usually put a flat ended punch on one of the tabs and tap it with a hammer to get it rotating.

    I assume it's rusty, so soak it with a good penetrating oil for a couple days. I used a brass punch to rotate it around.

    Thanks a bunch! Soaked it overnight with some PB blaster and used a chunk of aluminum for a punch , got the lock ring off. Another round of blaster and I'll follow it through.
