    Hi
Anyone know of a source for blueprints or measured drawings for an early cj5 tub.
I am planning to rebuild an original looking body for my 59 based on what's left of its original body. By original looking I am flexible with things like diamond plate or 12guage sheet for the floors and custom supports. I just want someone who looks at a picture or across a parking lot to think its an original 59. Mostly floors body supports nothing to fancy. I have the original as a template but rust and 40+ years of previous owner mods may have changed a few important details.

Oh and yes I know all sorts of company's will sell me a replacement and a few of you have decent bodies for a fair price, but I should have a new plasma cutter in a day or two to play with and I kind of want the experience of building it myself the way I want it.

    Thanks for any sugestions.

I think I saw those last week. Great job they are part of my inspiration for my jeep's floor.

I was thinking of doing someting similar to your braces, starting them at the bottom edge of the body sides and building everything else up on top of that. I was also thinking of building large angle iron rock slidders that line up with and are supported by the lower body braces. Sort of a combination of your braces, and the rock sliders that some one with a red cj5 posted a few weeks ago(sorry I don't remember the username, but he did a nice job). I then wanted to use either 12 or 14 guage or thin diamond plate to form the floor and possibly the inner fender wells.

I know its going to be a heavy combination, but it will be even weight and fairly low as far as center of gravity is concerned, and hopefully I will never have to repair the area again with all that extra metal to make it bomb proof. I figure when i loose the hard top and put in a heavier floor I should come out about even.

I am also toying around the idea of pulling a perfectly good f134 and putting in the chevy 350 that is sitting in the truck next to the jeep. If I do weight will not be and issue at all since the motor is used to pulling around a 5500lb pickup.
