1946 Cj2a L134 Carb

The carb on the CJ2A needs replaced, it has to many leaks and stripped holes and I'm tired of fighting with it.
Any thoughts on buying new or rebuilding another old one.

Personally I prefer rebuilding an original WO if you can find a good core. There are a lot of them out there. About the only thing that a kit won't fix is wear in the throttle shaft bore, but that can be fixed by a properly installed bushing.

If you don't feel comfortable about building your own, rather than buying a reproduction from an Ebay seller, who may or may not stand behind their product, I suggest you contact either of the below, both active members of this or other Jeep forums, and well known for doing excellent work, and providing support.

Yeah I was kind of leaning towards rebuilding an old one myself. Let me know the details if you want to part with one of your cores.

I paid $50 each for a box full of them a while back. If you want one I'll pick out one that looks like a good core, and you can have it for that plus shipping.

Contact Scoutpilot here on this forum. I bought a rebuilt carb for my '46 2A. Removed the solex and bolted a better than new carb and fired it right up.

 

Had Scoutpilot rebuild the carb and he did a great job, it has never run better.
