Surprised myself in how fast it goes!

    Took the 62 CJ5 out tonight just to test top speed with the 5.38s and 31" tires. Well did not have enought dirt road to find out before a curve came up. It zipped right up to 50 mph in 2nd gear no problem with pedal left! In the M37 I had to red line the engine to get 58 mph in top gear with 5.83s and 9.00 X 16 tires. These 225 V6s have plenty of power to get you going. Must be scary to have a big V8 in one and punch it! Might be I am getting old at54 and speed and fast acceleration bothers me more now then when I was a teenager. The speedo said 50 but a Gear Tire Chart/MPH figures out to 58 in 2nd gear! Mark
