Auction Find

I've been watching an `83 base model CJ7 on an online farm auction. It has the four banger with the Tremec four speed. Bid is at $2400 right now.

Anybody know what differential gear ratio would be standard issue with that drivetrain combo?

 

I learned long ago to be careful with what I remember about past owned vehicles. I never had the 4 cyl so looked this one up...

4.10 was optional but 3.54 was standard with the 4 cylinder engines in 1984.

Shortly after posting, I found it in my factory service manual. Yes, 3:54s or 4:10s is what it showed. I would love to swap either of those ratios into my CJ7. That would be so much better than my current 2:73s.

So many good components on the auction Jeep but I need another whole Jeep sitting around like I need another hole in my head. I guess I'll pass at it's current price. When it was under a $1000 I was seriously tempted, but it's probably going to get up around $3000 at this rate.

When the hammer dropped it was at $4400.00; it must have been better than it appeared online. Certainly more than I would care to pay just to rob the diffs out of it.
