T15 Input Shaft

I am having my transmission rebuilt, but my input shaft is bad. I have another one but I did not notice this slot on the side. Is it supposes to be there.Also there is also a two chips where the retaining clip goes after the front bearing is installed. Will this be okay

 

If the pictures are of the shaft your proposing to use, in my opinion it's unusable.
The slot is normal, and the chips in the snap ring groove don't concern me.
But the bearing surface on the inside of the shaft where the pilot rollers go appears to be very bad and unusable.
In my opinion based on what I see in the photo.

 

x2, looks too rough to use, however photo is not too good, hard to be sure.
Why not see if you can post a better photo.

 

I very recently saw a T15 that was listed on CL.
It also had a bad maindrive gear even though the remainder of the transmission looked great. I am starting to wonder if that is common with T15’s. And I have no idea where s person could find a new or even a good used T15 maindrive.
