I was going through my parts pile the other day and this banged up glove box door caught my eye. Some of the Spruce Tip Green was flaking off the base paint and as you can see in the picture it appears to be a bright purple. There is no other color under the purple. Renegade part repurposed at the factory or?
    Thought it was interesting

That looks like it could be Renegade Plum. In the past 50 years, a lot of parts get swapped around. Maybe that door was off a wrecked Kaiser or AMC Renegade. Your door looks more like Empire Blue rather than Spruce Tip Green, but maybe its the lighting. There were far more Plum AMC Jeeps than the Ren 1 or Ren 2 versions.

Interesting. It is definitely the green. I have the dash it came off of.

My purple tailgate has the other renegade bright green under the pant. I imagine the factory swapped/resprayed depending on supply and need.

if the factory dings something it will often get painted again and sent on its way. I have a factory front bumper cover for a 92 formula firebird got it when the dealer was reusing part numbers. its black primer over red, green and blue. they had trouble getting a good finish so they primed it and sent it to the bodyguys as a replacement part
