If you have some lift over the stock height you will need to keep an eye on your pinion angle in the front differential. That is why I played safe with the 4 degree, I have about 1.5 to 2" lift.

I don't know why I just saw this tonight, but I'm right here in SLT. Let me know if I can help with anything, and I'd like to check it out.

@timsresort ... I go back and forth between Cameron Park and Meyers. I am here in Tahoe this weekend and the Jeep is here. I am off of Pioneer Trail near Elks Club. Drop me a note if you want to swing by. My dad just passed a couple of months ago and so it's only been that long since I have been spending a lot of time up here. Would be great to meet somebody around town. I am going to be here this weekend and the next two weekends for sure, plus I'm always occasionally here during the week. Drop me a line. My email is mike@goodman.buzz

COOL....I didn't realize they did shop work....I just know they produce some cool quality stuff and actually make products specific to early CJs (such as the 1.75" wide caster shims - most places make them for the later, wider springs)! SierraBum=Thanks for letting me know!
Hope it works out for the OP - depending on the front axle, as Fireball said, there might be a few other things to address. The original D27 is notorious for needing some kingpin bearing maintenance etc. WOuldn't be surprising with all thats been done to that jeep, if it has a D30 up front, and that might mean addressing the ball joints. Check in with WFO about it....

Right on. That shop has really carved out a niche for itself being so close to Fordyce Creek, The Rubicon etc. I grew up in that area, and so have followed their growth. They kinda track in the vein of the old 4x4 shops like Earl Warden’s Land Cruiser shop…only fully modernized with high-end machining, CNC etc. They will even do recovery missions.

Definitely check out their videos. They document all kinds of classic Jeeps and Trucks that come through their shop…as well as newer rigs.

FWIW... I am the OP on this thread. I have listed this Jeep for sale. It's in the classified section on this site with the thread titled "1969 Jeep CJ5, restomod complete." It's also posted on Facebook in a group titled "Jeep CJ5."

Wow, great videos. DEFINITELY the go-to shop for a CJ owner. I'd want to take my Jeep by just to get an assessment from them, as well as a list of upgrades they'd recommend so I could plan for a total overhaul at some point. Long haul for us down there, though. But they're clearly the experts, and my rig is a hybrid in need of tweaks to do some fine-tuning overall.

    Thanks for these recommendations!

I have known owner Trevor for at least 25 years. Wheeled and camped next to him as part of the big WFO group on Jamboree. What is great is that even though their bread and butter comes from the JL crowd nowadays, he has a definite soft spot for early CJ's.
