I'm still using the floor pedals in my cj3b. I dont have any plans to change them. I just recently realized that I have no brake lights, again. Another pressure switch gone bad.:steamed: What are you guys using for this purpose?
I bought this switch from Speedway Speedway Universal Mechanical Brake Pedal Light Switch (speedwaymotors.com) I read the description before I bought it and realized it was described as a normally closed switch, opens on activation. I simply expected they had written it wrong. It wasn't written wrong. How would anyone use this switch without another relay to make it function correctly?
I'm tired of changing pressure switches.
    TIA

Seems it would be easy enough to rig up a switch on the pedal arm. Contacts open when arm in up position, closed when depressed ( normally closed held open)

I went to my local Napa and they had the switch. And you could get either electrical connection style for the terminals.

You could make that switch work. Just fabricate a mount to install it on the other side of the pedal arm.

    This.

You need to mount it so when the pedal comes up all the way, it moves the switch off the resting position. Then when you depress the pedal, it pulls away from the switch and allows the switch to go to the resting position.

Ford, Chevy, and Mopar all used in line brake switches. You can get all of them over the counter. Pre 66 Ford switch

Motorcycle switches are a pull style switch. They are mounted and use a spring attached to the brake pedal to work.

Well DUH me! My simple brain kept wanting to mount the switch so it was in its resting position at the same time the pedal was in the resting position. I took you guys advice and went to the other side and mounted the switch with the lever out of the home position, (spring loaded, not resting) and I got it working.
Since real estate is extremely tight under the floor of a 3B, I managed to mount the switch to the master cylinder access cover.

I may not be smart enough to figure all this stuff out, but I sure know where to go to for advice.
    Thanks Guys

    That's a pretty clever solution.

You can go to Ron Francis Electrical for about anything you need for wiring he has anything you might need. I think that is the right spelling? I have Dot 5 in my Jeep, it is better as far as I am concerned. I had problems with brake light switches with Dot 5, Ron Francis had dot 5 switches. Good Luck
