Can someone please give me the basic hose routing for coolant on a F134. I Have a 62 FC150 that came to me without any hoses or radiator. I have replaced the radiator and rad. hoses. I am not running a heater. Are there any hoses that should be attached to the cylinder head?

    Thanks,
    Tom

The fittings for heater hoses are located on the water pump and the top of the head over the #4 cylinder. You can plug these with pipe plugs if you aren't using a heater, but be sure to have the bypass installed between the water pump and the front of the head. It helps to prevent air/steam pockets and overheating.

Okay, so I don't need the heater lines. I do not have a bypass from the water pump to the front of the head. The FC150 has a coolant tank that sits higher than the water pump. I bet this works in place of the bypass hose. Although adding one might not hurt anything. Do you happen to know the part number for the bypass hose?

    Thanks,
    Tom

Bypass, eh? I think I just got a project...... took my heater out long ago, but until this go-round I've had a hose from the back of the head to the water pump. Took that out too, but I've thought it seems a bit warm very quickly...... Putting it back now.

I think the bypass originally referred to is actually a small diameter 6" hose with a 90degree bend that goes from the front of the head to the top of the water pump. I am not sure if you need the heater loop or not. I would think it would help to have both for coolant circulation through the head. I may add the small bypass and the heater loop.

    Thanks,

That's the first time I've read that someone didn't have problems if they didn't have one or the other hoses.

Definitely looks good. I believe you when you say you don't have either, you didn't think I didn't believe you did you?
