Glove Box Cover and lock issue

    Hello Folks
    Well I am pretty much done on my 1955 CJ5.
    The only problem that I am having is the glove box cover.
    I ordered a oe lock for it and of course does not fit.

    The whole in the box is very small. So I then mounted the cover that the lock came with fir fine but has no way to latch at all. So here I am with a restored CJ 5 and no way to install the glove box cover.

    If any of you folks might have some good ideas I am way open.

    I just had the same issue.........believe it or not.

    I had to machine the inside unlocking parts......do you have a pic of what you have?

    If you go to ebay and take a look at this pic that is what my cover looks like it also has some hardware on the back side of the cover.
