My buddy got this trailer years ago when he bought his wife a JK. It came with the Jeep evidently. I have been on him since he got it to sell it to me and just talked him into it this past weekend. It had been sitting for about 6 years so the brakes were locked up and the tires a bit dry rotted. Got the brakes broke loose and the tires pumped up and it seems to pull pretty good. Ill have to get new tires soon. Anyway he thinks its some .mil prototype but I think its something someone built to go along with a show vehicle. No data plates anywhere, all aluminum except the axle and tongue, paint is coming off because it has no primer, the paint also has a lot of sparkle or metal flake in it.

It has a beefy tongue. Auto brakes? Wonder how it tows and what the wheels are from. Pretty serious offset to those.

Heavy duty for such a small volume. Meant to take some weight. But also to save dead-weight, if it is aluminum.

I'm thinking a trailer designed for some sort of utility work.

Come to think of it, it does look something like a cable reel carrier.

    Home made.
All the components for axle and tailgate are off the shelf. No bump stops, screws into an unpainted axle. No broke edges all the corners are cut and weld.

X2 on shop built/home made. Any factory built trailer would likely be at least have prime paint all over. The unpainted axle and off the self surge tongue and other hardware suggest this. The axle w/brakes may be military surplus. Those brake lines look too neat for home made. On the other hand, the welds suggest home made.
