Also considering that kit. Not for the bracket but for Howells interest in showing support for the oddfire V6.

A huge 'Thumbs-up' to you guys for pulling that off. Nice looking gizmo. Does it need to be painted, as in, will it rust?

It's plated the same as most of our other brackets and plates etc. I can't remember offhand what the exact recipe is, but I'll have to find out. Obviously not chromed, but I remember the term 'bright plated' used to describe it...which seems to work pretty good for corrosion resistance on the other parts. Pretty sure it's some form of zinc.

The current kit is without the bracket, sensor, etc.. The website is currently getting an overhaul, and the revised kit will be posted there.

    https://howellefi.com/product/hb225-225-cid-buick-tbi-conversion-kit/

It will also include a connector and pigtail that aren't in the photos I posted previously.

I am very interested in this kit, can you nudge your sales department to get their website updated with the bracket, connector & pigtail included?
    Thank you!

I'll be taking better photos of the pieces probably today, the previous shots are so-so. Then off to the website guru along with a few other things to update. I'll be sure to climb in the Bossman's ear again to get the price worked out asap. The updated kit part number is HB225D.
Also waiting to hear back from our volunteer about a possible additional tweak to the bracket before shipping any out. They may need a slight bend added to get the sensor right on target. One more example of trying to do an aftermarket piece without an actual engine available here in person. It's just a minor change, and even though Jeep owners probably wouldn't mind making the adjustment themselves, I want these things as close as possible before going out.

Update to the updated update: I thought I posted the photo of the complete assembly already...sorry for that goof. It includes the bracket, sensor, sensor mounting screw and lockwasher, gasket (not shown in photo), connector and pigtail, and instruction sheet. The bolts/pins or whatever the customer decides to use to install in the damper to trigger the sensor aren't included, you can use whatever you like, as long as it's magnetic. We've sent several brackets out already, but evidently the included instruction sheet needs a bit more clarification for those who aren't too familiar with doing DIY wiring. 2 of the 3 wires on the included pigtail have terminals already installed on the ends, just a matter of popping the old wire and terminal out of the ECM connector, and inserting the new one in it's place. The 3rd wire needs to be spliced into another existing wire in the harness. For those who aren't familiar, the ECM connectors in the TBI kit are lettered and numbered for each pin/terminal, the locations are on the instruction sheet. This is intended only for customers who already have our TBI kit installed, but need the bracket upgrade. All new TBI kits for the oddfire V6 will have this wiring already incorporated into the harness. It is not available on it's own, but that may change in the future.
So I guess it's time for Granny Clampett to ring the dinner bell and yell 'come and git it!'. If you order one, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience installing it, and how it works for you. I'm still not sure about the previously mentioned slight bend put in to fine-tune the sensor location, and feedback is really the only way to answer that question.
Thanks again, gang. This has been an interesting experience for sure. Hopefully this issue can finally be put out of it's (your?) misery. - Dan

Almost forgot (well, I DID forget until now), with the exception of the bolt, washer, and sensor, everything is made in the good ol' U.S.A. The bracket is 100% Michigan, from start to finish. You'll have to yell at GM for having the sensor made uhhh...elsewhere. *AHEM*. Just thought I'd throw that patriotic tidbit out there. :flag::beer:(y):flag:

I appreciate the interest in making this kit work for our admittedly old, outdated jeeps. When I finally get my jeep roadworthy, this kit will be on my list.

I'm old and out-dated too, maybe this project is a good match?
