Dash Color

So many early CJ 5s I se have the same greenish color. Was that the only color or were their others?

 

Foam Green seems to be a standard color on many jeeps. My 69 looks like it was that color inside and out. The outside is Gray but peeling and the green is showing. I'm thinking of a bright yellow for the body but will need to redo the dash.

 

There were lots of different greens. Gregg, I think maybe your sample size isn't large enough. I used to think that President Red was the most popular CJ color, but when I look at the paint chips, I recognize most of them ... I must have seen Jeeps in all those colors.

Jeep always offered a wide range of basic colors - red, orange, yellow, white, black, gray - for its commercial/industrial/agricultural customers. For CJs, they always painted every body surface the same color - inside and out.

Also, the bright colors (red, yellow, orange) and metallics don't last as well as ordinary colors like white, tan and green, so maybe that biases your impression.

 

when i paint elenor after i get back stationed in the sates, its either going to be the spruce tip green or nordic blue. i have always liked that blue for some reason
