Recommended Jeep Mechanics In La?

Just bought a 1964 Kaiser CJ5. It had a frame of restoration some years ago, but that’s all I know. The previous owner didn’t have any information.

I am new to this, and while I am open to doing work in the future and a few miscellaneous things here and there now…. I’d rather not have to rebuild the whole thing again in order to get it roadworthy before I can start enjoying it.
Currently, gas is spitting out of the carb, the oil canister, spewed oil all over the firewall, and it’s leaking from pretty much everywhere and every gasket ha ha.

I’ve only driven it about 3 miles so far, but want to get it into a happy state before I drive it again.

Does anybody have a good mechanic recommendation for the Los Angeles area?

I’d rather just bring it to somebody and that knows what they’re doing for a once over so they can tell me at least what all needs to be done to it.

I bought the service manual and have a few parts coming from kaiserwillys but I’d rather not have it sitting in pieces, taking up my whole garage for the next year ha ha.

Only a year? I like your optimism! Most of us do our own work as that is the only way we can afford it...the pay is good though...around --$50.00 an hour. That is a negative.
All this this to have a Jeep that is only worth something to yourself.

 

HA! My only point of reference it the year i spent restoring an old kawasaki motorcycle in my office. The significant other at the time was NOT pumped about it
