    Just saw this...
    I measured .057
    18 gauge? My guess is 16 gauge stainless
    It's heavy duty. Not bending it by hand. You could probably go 18. We don't have any 20 gauge laying around to compare it too

    (y) 16ga is .060"
    I've got one modeled at 18ga or .048"
    I'll likely use some 20ga aka .036" but I'm not really happy about putting the pcm in it...
    I am putting a license plate light and a brake light switch in mine for illumination. :cool:

    I did something similar and added a lights under the dash at each end to illuminate the floor.

    :drool;

    Nicely done.

    Not having tig, nor having a bender handy, I just bought a stainless warming tray for about $10 from the local chef supply store where I buy my bacon and beans. My mock up worked well (hold to back of dash and check alignment). Not as thick, but a different sort of 'custom.' Considering using some "rattle can" bedliner for the bottom / back of it.

    I really like the idea of it having a light in it, so will be on the lookout for some sort of LED light / pigtail for that, and may be add a couple others that shine down on the floor like someone else mentioned. considering something like this at the moment:

    I'm leaning toward a dashlight similar to this gooseneck light - I have something similar with a rheostat switch in my work truck (but I think it's incandescent vs LED):

    I used these lights to illuminate my license plate. They worked out well.

    License plate lighting. Hard to see how well they illuminate during the day. 001Today.jpg 004Today.jpg

    I did have to shorten this 3/4" since I have a welded dash, I *think* it still works for a bolted dash but don't be surprised if you need to trim and reflair the opening.
