Fuel Pump Eccentric

For those of you more familiar with AMC V8's (360 specifically), is it normal for the fuel pump eccentric (concentric ?) to be two pieces? I have the cup and then the cam that goes inside and I can take them apart.
If it's not normal, it will be on the replace list. When I install it, there is just the slightest bit of wiggle between the two parts and I know oiling is critical at this point. Just wanted to make sure the oil passage isn't blocked due to that wiggle. Thanks.
