Weather here in Florida Panhandle has been perfect for weeks now. This can’t last and Rain is surely coming. So tonight I tried to get my wipers going on the bottom wiper windshield I recently acquired.

First question is the wiring. My switch is currently wired with one ground and one 12v hot. Wipers have 3 wires- black red green. Wired black to black and hot to red= blew fuse. Black to black and hot to green = blew fuse.
    Any suggestions about wiring?

Then I put the new blades on.
The blades seem right. The arms are to long.

Everything on Quadratec looks the same as far as arms. Any ideas?

Not having any success with wipers. I’ll move on to new turn signal switch. How can I go wrong? Only 7 wires there!!

20221024_182412.jpg It looks like those arms are too long. Is there any adjustment?
My blades are 11" and the arms measure about 11.25" OAL

Looks like you have a top mount wiper frame that someone converted to bottom wipers. The bottom wiper glass almost touches the top channel, I see you still have the windshield standoffs and the hood latch, all indicate a top mount wiper frame.

Its definitely not converted. Never a hole in the top edge for wipers and the holes for mounting and servicing the linkages are all perfect.

Something is funky with that windshield. This is what a bottom wiper windshield should look like.

There were windshields made like that for a short time, I think in 68.

That windshield has the short glass (no arch at the top) indicating that it is an early frame that would have come with top mount wipers. The bottom mount wipers came about with the introduction of the taller windshield glass IIRC. So, yea, I'm with Nate. That frame is wonky.

My measurements are pretty close to that . Blades are a little longer at 11.5”. I’m going to ruin one of my arms by trying to make new bends next time I get out in the garage.

I modified my wiper arms to accept modern blades.

This was helpful -The wiper motor is grounded to the windshield frame not the black wire. The black was the wiper park switch (which I have no clue about). I just hooked the fast wire to the hot wire from the switch and we'll go with that for now. fuse is holding up fine.

I'll try this and hopefully have this wrapped up.

I ran into this same issue when I ordered new arms and blades for my flatfenders when I added type WWF motors. I drilled out the rivets holding the arm to the base, shortened the arm and put the correct bend back in it, drilled new holes in the arm and then bolted it all back together with little tiny cap screws. That was a couple years ago and so far so good.

The first bottom wiper mounted windshields had the regular glass. I had a new '69 like that.

Have you had to change the arms or Blades? It appears that all the reproduction parts are made for the larger curved top glass.

I haven't changed arms, just blades. Since I've got all three types of windshields with electric wipers I went out and measured them.

1968 Flat top windshield with top pivot wipers:

    The arm is 9" long:

    The blade is 9"long:

1969 with flat top windshield and bottom pivot wipers:

    The arm is 10" long:

    The blade is 9" long:

1971 with curved top windshield and bottom mount wipers:

The arm is about 11-3/4" long:

    The blade is 11" long:

Armed with numbers if might be worth calling Walck's to see if they have anything that matches. If you can't find a 10" wiper arm, these adjustable ones might work: https://www.amazon.com/Anco-Adjustable-Wiper-13-5827-254mm/dp/B0009IK5YO/

Adding more info from a 1971 parts catalog.

They list 11" blades for all bottom pivot windshields but list a 10" arm presumably for the flat top glass and a 10.9" arm presumably for the curved top glass. That lines up with what I measured on the Jeeps.

"Stationary" in this context means non-venting windshield. Not non fold down.

Somewhere along the way my '69 ended up with 9" blades. I'll have to try putting 11" blades on it to see it they fit. It looks like they would.

    Thanks Fireball! (y)
I was just about to post the info from my '71, which matches yours exactly. Depending on how they 'park', there is a small overlap at the bottom. Your measurement photos tell the whole story...I think.
