after seeing your post, I tried to adjust mine, but it doesn’t look like there’s a way to move the bracket. Seems to be attached to the dash. Is there a trick to adjusting it?

The lower hooks can be adjusted but from my experience they are almost never bent the same. I used to see them all the time at the junk yard and always grabbed them. At one time I had about a half dozen sets and compared them all the hooks were different. You can put them in the bench vice and tweek them down or up wherever needed. Also in or out effects their latching ability aswell. If the top latch is pressing on the end of the hook too much and not sitting well in the U it will have a tendency to unlatch itself. They have to be fettled with. You can also file out the holes in the dash if you need a little more adjustment up and down.

Should be 2 screws holding it on, loosen them off a bit and the latch & plate in the back should slide up & down.

The backer plates with the tab are fastened permanently to the dash, but the holes where the screws go thru are elongated, allowing the clasp to slide up or down.

Yes, sr! The parts are sooo much better than the ones I have! Other than a little surface rust, they are in perfect condition. Thanks a lot!
