So all you guys that are running hydraulic clutches, did you have to beef up the fire wall around the clutch MC any to keep it from flexing? I did a search and didn't uncover anything. I recall a buddy of mine just drilled holes through the firewall and went for it. I could see the firewall flexing drasticly. That worries me!

Also, I need a slave for an 80-86 amc 4 cyl in order to bolt it up to a 75 258 to->t18 stock bellhousing?

    Thanks guys!,

i put a 14 Gauge piece of steel over the firewall as support, it also covered the opening where the heater used to be. It worked well for me, but i do see it bending a touch now, so when ever i take the tub off the frame again for body work i will probably weld in some steel . The 14gauge was actually bolted in, because at the time i didnt have a welder.

Mine is just drilled and bolted. But, where it is mounted is already reinforced on the '72.

If you dont already have any of the pieces you can buy a complete kit from Parts Mike in California. Includes master, slave and braided line with appropriate fittings.

bringing up a slightly stale thread.

    I bought the parts mike kit, i have a 73 cj5.

How did you mount the pushrod to the pedal assembly? It seems it is not long enough.

I also have a 68 corvette master cylinder, and the rear line is in the way, but I think I can move that.

    THanks

I drilled the pedal shaft and put in a new pin. Then I used a wavy washer and normal washers to shim it up so that it is tight but will still move when the pedal is pressed.

I used 3/8" aluminum plate I got ata scrap yard both inside the tub and outside to cover the hole where the heater used to be and also to add strength, I have a glass body so it needed it even with the steel insert already in the body. http://home.earthlink.net/~slicktea/id3.html You can see it on this page..

I think I can get close if I extend the pushrod and move the brake master towards the pass side and get 90's to exit the brake cylinder.

I cut my pushrod in half and threaded it with a die nut and put a coupler in the middle with two lock nuts so I can adjust the length on mine..

I covered the heater hole with a piece of 3/16 alum. diamond plate bolted thru the firewall and then thru a piece of 1 1/2 steel ange iron on the inside. Then drilled holes thru the diamond plate to mount the clutch and brake cylinders. It doesn't seem to flex at all.
