Water/engine/distributor

    What's the best way to keep water out of the distributor and other electronics in the engine compartment?

    I have know people to put alittle rtv/silicone sealer around the bottom of the distributor cap. Make sure you plug wires aren't too old. If they are old and cracking they will tend to short out when wet. hope this helps.

    Look in a boneyard at 80s and 90s Ford products. Some have a rubber distributor cover. Depending on your distributor, this might serve as an effective splash barrier. I just stuck one on my Delco dist, it fit OK, not perfect... I'll test it next weekend.
