Hey everybody , does anyone have a good source for marine unit 12 volt electric wipers. I can't find anything but the cheap ones and Herm is out of his.

I think Stan had a source, let me check his site...

I don't see it there on a quick look. You can read through it, if it's not there contact Stan by email, I think he knows of a source.

If I'm not mistaken, 4wd hardware has them too.

I don't have anyone to recommend off hand, but do a web search on +wiper +marine and you'll get plenty of hits to look at. Here's one as an example:

    http://www.boatfix.com/bymfg.ASP?make=ONGARO+MARINE

If you want to match what they used on the 67 Jeeps, you want a model WMF motor or equivelent. I think ARI makes one. The ONGARO MARINE 30991 / ONG30991 unit they show in the link above is correct. I think you'll want the 2.5" shaft but take some measurements to be sure, and don't forget a wiper switch!

IMHO these types of motors are absolutely worth the higher cost and beat the heck out of the original vac wipers and the cheap electrics most places sell.

IF you can find the parts, a little fab work and the newer (70-75) motor and linkages work on the upper wipers.

I transfered a 77 CJ-7 frame to my 63-5. The hinges didnt line up right but with a little manipulation, I think it will be fine. The 77 has bottom electric wipers.
