   I am pleased to inform that yes, the clamp was placed correctly, yes there is a gasket for it as kaiserwillys sells one and that I made one with some gasket material and worked like a charm!

   It doesn't have the "ring" that's around the top of the clamp.
   My clamp is a little different too. That must be original stuff.
