What I have is a F4 that I want to build a bracket and add XJ power steering pump too, and the power steering gear box, has anyone done this? Anyone do a write up? The search key didnt bring up one thing to help.

Also does anyone pre manufacture a bracket for it?

Check out hermtheoverdriveguy.com. He just started advertising a bracket to put the steering box on an early cj inside the engine compartment. Looks a lot stronger and out of the way than other conversions I've seen. When I am able to go to PS on my 71, that's what I'll probably use.

    My .02 cents

Jon I bet when you see how cramped the engine compartment gets with one of those you change your mind real fast, that is part of the beauty of hanging it out on the frame horn, it leaves the engine compartment alot free'r!;)

Herms kit also is not designed as of yet to fit a 4 banger!

The saginaw steering on the frame horn is easy to do, the only problem is fabricating a power stering pump bracket for the F134, by all means not impossible, just not to many guys have done it and even less have made drawings for the pump bracket for the motor.
If you have access to a plasma cutter and a mig welder I so go ahead and try it. You could probably pilfer a power steering pump off of a s10 4 banger and alter it to fit the motor, an Isuzu or toyota might be easier due to the v-belt use though!

Is it possible to use the hydrulic pump from my snow plow to run a power steering unit?
