The headlight switch in my 1967 CJ5 is bad. So, I ordered a replacement from Walcks.

When I removed the old one I notice a difference in the fitment. The old one has two flat surfaces on the barrel which fit the hole in the dash. The new switch has a round barrel which would require modifying the hole in the dash for it to fit.

I have searched all over the web including all of the suppliers I normally buy from and all that I find look exactly like the one I got from Walcks.

These are listed as fitting CJ2A, 3 - 5 and indeed this switch is exactly like what I used in my CJ2A which has a round hole in the dash.

I am not overly opposed to rounding out the hole in the dash, but if the correct switch that fits is available I would buy it.

    Anyone else run into this?

I tried Marine light switches, in my Jeep, found the difference is some light switches the parking lights stay on when the head lights come on and some don't and some can be wired earthier way. I used Jeep light switches for my electric wipers and my back up and interior lights. First click is low speed and second is high speed on my wipers, so I needed a switch that turns off when it goes to high speed. Same with my interior light and backup lights. I had three Jeep switches from donor Jeeps so it all worked out for the good. Good Luck Andrew.
