    Hi all!

I've scoured the net and can't seem to figure out exactly what's going on here.
I bought this motor to replace an old Studebaker for my Jeep and I'm not familiar with the plumbing in it at all.

As I understand it, the 12 o'clock port on the pump to the head is pretty common heater bypass, but where does the 10 o'clock 90 degree port go?

Then in the back, I read the "faucet" is a common manual heater valve trick, but then what should be on top?

I would like to add a heater, and trying to best figure out where I should plumb into and what I should seal up.

    Thanks for any help! 2021-04-06 16.41.24.jpg 2021-04-06 16.41.14.jpg

I believe the top port to be the heater and the faucet is where a plug or temp sender would normally be.
The 10 o'clock is where a earlier add on Harrison heater or such would be plumbed.

Just use the faucet and fitting as they are and it will work fine.

    Great, thanks for your help!

    Quick follow up questions:
    A) Any reason not to use the top port for a temp sensor?
    B) With the faucet to a heater, do I run it in either an open/closed fashion, or can it be modulated?

Just want to make sure I don't do something stupid. :)

Temp sender is fine there, might get a weird low temp after the coolant is filled until all the air is purged from the back of the engine.

The original valves could be modulated so it won't affect the engine any different than original heaters.
I would keep the bypass if you plan to cut the flow completely.
