What temp thermostat do you guys run on your Dauntles motors, I am currently running a 175 on my v6 after the rebuild and the temp is steady about 185 at the back of the block on the sender (my 71 has it on the back passenger instead of at the thermo housing). I am wondering if this is higher than most of you run, I will assume that my new motor will run hotter unitl it is broke in good.

I can't remember what I'm running, i think it's a 195... The motor usually runs between 190-200.... Yes, your fresh rebuild should run a tad warmer until it starts to free up....

i have a 185 (I think) in mine. I don't know how accurate my gauge is, but it never even reaches 1/2 way

i just got a 180 to replace whatever the po put in mine. it never seems to warm up enough so i am wondering if he just removed the thermo altogether. might be the case since he ran this in the desert ca and mexico dunes.
