Rebuilt Transmission Issues

    The Money Pit is getting closer to being completed. “Not over till its over”. though. I purchased a rebuilt transmission and transfer case for my 73 CJ 5. The tranny keeps popping out of first gear. The mechanic is in communication the shop. Still can’t figure it out. Is it just a bad transmission? Help!!!

    Bad in what sense? Put together wrong? Could be.

    As automotive things go, it's not that complicated. What's the history? Did you send your transmission to be rebuilt?

    I purchased it from a reputable dealer. My mechanic sent pics to dealer. He says looks put together right. Will check other things he said. Thanks

    Possibly mis-alignment with the bell housing and engine. Needs to be square, parallel, centered, concentric, etc.
