Here’s the $1m question… rear flares - round or square?

A few more last minute pre Rubicon upgrades.
Mac made a few poor line choices last year and nearly ripped the drain plug out of his oil pan on a rock.
We sourced a good used oil pan and welded a Trail Forge skid plate to it. The rear main seal was replaced and a one piece pan gasket installed.

    Moving rearward....
Mac's stock transmission cross member was destroyed and the stock unit left allot to be desired.
I found a gently used Barnes 4wd HD crossmember/skid plate.

Outback the factory gas tank skid plate had a pretty good dent in it.
We sourced a Motobilt HD gas tank skid plate.

While the fuel tank was out, we made an access door in the bed for future fuel pump repairs if needed.

The fender flare material came in yesterday. It is universal extra wide flaring from Pacer Performance.
I am hoping to have something that looks somewhat like the stock CJ flares at a glance but with more coverage. With over 1/2 of a 12.50 wide tire sticking out, the 4" flare covers about 2/3's of what is hanging out.

I like those flairs, very clean and almost factory looking if you didn't know better. The whole rig is built extremely well. You do amazing work Kyle.

I feel your pain Kyle, been putting together lists of what I need to pack. Been going through my extra parts to figure out what I have and what I need to order. Been going over the whole JEEP making sure no leaks, bolts are tight and nothing looks worn. I been putting on a lot of miles making sure everything is running well. I’ve packed the JEEP at least a half dozen times to see what fits and what extra room I have for parts.

Alright folks this is the last of this project for me until the Rubicon Trip!
Just a couple outside pics to show off the flares. I am really happy with how they came out!!!
For a spring under YJ on 33's..... This thing is beefy looking!
The more I drive it, the more I consider the options on the dark side.....

The 4" wide flares are perfect for this combo.
Just a little tread hanging out, but not so much that it looks like kiddie pool sections on the side!

Standing there looking at the jeep I couldn't help but feel like it had a significant lean on the right front corner.
About 30 seconds later I noticed that the RF leaf spring had a significant issue. :banghead:
It's hard to see in the pic, but the spring up close has a negative arch just down from the rear eye.
The spring in the distance clearly has the proper arch......
At lease the superlift springs are only $100 each on amazon....... Uncle Mac gets to change this himself..... I got stuff to do.
Maybe this year he will follow his spotters instructions rather than the old battering ram approach.
