Water Separator - Is It Necessary?

    Makes sense to eliminate the separator then and put the pump there.

    water separators are good on vehicles that sit a lot. ethanol in gas will absorb moisture from the air until it crashes out of the gas and settling on the bottom of the fuel tank. that primer bulb on small engines is really a recirculator pump to get the water out of of the bottom of gravity fuel systems which happens to be the carb bowl . spark plugs wet with water instead of gas is a royal pain.

    Those Swagelok fittings and stainless tubing is quite a bit of overkill. Thats the same stuff I used to plumb my high pressure air system in my dive shop. Those fittings and tubing are rated for service pressures of 3000 to 5000 psi.
    I probably still have the "go/no go" devise to gauge how much to tighten that ferule fitting.

    Exactly! That's why I noted access, years ago we paid around (IIRC) $15 or more per fitting just for small fittings like that. They don't give the tubing away either, especially if it's cleaned and capped for O2 service.
