Which one Dan, the link takes you to a page with 20 mufflers on it.
If your worried about losing back pressure just put reducers on your turnouts and reduce it down to a 2 "- 2 1/4" pipe.

My spare Magnaflow has been sold to another ECJ5 member.

Not a quiet muffler for what you are looking for Dan. (But I like it  )

Are most of you guys talking about a single muffler? I'd like to quiet down the Jeep as well but I have no intentions of Y-piping the exhaust. What are you dual pipe guys running? I think the majority here are running dual glass packs.

Not hardly(whaaaat diiiid you saaaay, speak up), most of the older guys are running turbo mufflers, I run a set of California Turbos, much quieter than glass packs, been on for 13 years, heck they may not even make them anymore for all I know.

Edit: yes they do, here are the mufflers I run! http://shop.store.yahoo.com/gofast/bosturmuf.html

Also, try looking into Gibson type mufflers. I worked for the company that used to manufacture these mufflers for Gibson. They would flow better than a Flowmaster and were much quieter. Size wise, they are round mufflers( 5", 6", 7") in various lengths. Many muffler shops can get these mufflers(and they wont have the Gibson name or price tag on them either!!)

I don't recall for sure but me thinks I bought the 2 chamber units. Might sell em to a buddy for his Mustang if they'll fit and go back to what Lynn's running. I had them on years ago and they weren't too loud as I recall. My system is set up like Lynn's with a 90 just out of the muffler which exits in front of each rear wheel. While on the way to Rausch Creek I realized how they came up with the name Dauntless. There was an airplane which used the name Dauntless back around WWII. I imagine they sound very similar at a constant speed/rpm. WWWAAAARRRAARRRAAAARRRRRAAR. :v6:

IIRC all those turbo mufflers are patterned after the original Corvair turbo muffler - the turbo pre-quiets the exhaust, so not much added muffling is needed. I think it's describing the size/shape more than anything.

Dan, quickly perusing the Flowmaster site, it looks like the 60 series are the quietest: http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pdfs/60seriesD.pdf

A stock-type muffler will be the quietest of all. Your FLAPS should have a Walker catalog that lists universal mufflers by size.
